Thank you Great Grandma Johnston

This week we received in the mail a blanket that Kaeden's Great Grandma Johnston made for him. It is super cute and it must have been a lot of work to make. All of the little feet that are on the fabric have been tied with yarn in a matching color. We just wanted to let her know that we love it and we love her.

Christmas!!

So, we had a really good Christmas this year. It was so much fun watching Avery opening his gifts. Last year he was more interested in the tissue paper than the gifts, but this year his reactions were great as he opened all of his gifts. We spent the morning together at our house opening all of the gifts and then went to Todd's parents house to spend time with the rest of the family. Overall it was a great day!! Here are a couple of pictures from the morning.

Christmas PJ's

Todd and I talked and we decided that we wanted to start a tradition of new pajamas for Christmas Eve. Let me just tell you what a pain it was to find matching pajamas for the two of them!!! I finally decided that we would just get some pajamas that were a little big on Kaeden so that they would match. Here is a picture of the boys.

Winter Visits

Alex and her boyfriend Nick came to visit us from BYU Idaho the week before Christmas. It seems that the snow followed them down here. We had a great time with them. It was fun to spend some time with Alex and to get to meet Nick. Here are some pictures of the fun we had in the snow.
Alex and Kaeden out in the snow.
Nick making a snowman for Avery
Avery wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow.

Avery and the finished snowman. Thanks for the help Nick!!!

Santa Claus

We had our ward Christmas party a couple of weeks ago and Avery and Kaeden got to meet Santa for the first time. Kaeden didn't seem to mind, but Avery didn't want anything to do with him.

Daddy Surfing

The other night Todd's back was hurting so he was laying on the floor to stretch it out. Avery took the opportunity to do a little Daddy surfing.

He looks so pleased with himself when he is finally able to get his balance standing on Todd. It was pretty funny to watch

Blanket

So, I finally made a blanket for Kaeden, I have been saying for months that I wanted to do it, but just haven't had the money or the time. We went to JoAnn's fabrics on the saturday after Thanksgiving and were able to get the fabric for 2.99 a yard!! So this blanket cost me $8 to make!! Sweet!! I made it a little bit smaller than I did for Avery's so that it will actually fit in his crib and we can take it out with us if it is cold. Yay for being creative!! lol

Time Flies!!

I can't believe how fast time has gone lately!! My goodness. Things are going really well for us. Todd is enjoying his new job, and they have actually offered me a position to work parttime for them which I am really excited about. I haven't started yet, but hopefully soon we can get things rolling. Among other news, we are starting to potty train Avery. He kind of forced the issue when he peed on me three times in one diaper changing and laughed histarically (sp?) about it. He did really well the first two days, he would go in the potty when I took him in there, but it has kind of dwindled the past couple of days. I figure at least we can start getting him used to the idea so that he isn't in diapers until he is 5. Hee hee. Anyway, lots of other stuff to tell, but I have pictures to show also, so there will be many more posts. Love you all.

Todd was playing with Avery the other night and tried his shorts on his head. Avery thought it was hilarious. He looks like a completely different boy. Lol.

It was a beautiful day on Saturday, so we decided to take the boys to the park. It was so nice that we decided that we would just walk over there. It is about 1-2 miles from our house and it only took us 20min to get there. Yay for exercise!! It was so much fun to watch Avery play at the park. Kaeden fell asleep on the way over there, so we got to focus on Avery for a little while. Which was really good for him. I think the swings were the favorite for both of them. It is amazing to watch them grow and learn more everyday.

Jobs and updates

Todd is employed!!!!!! YAY!!!! We are so excited that he was able to finally find a job. He will be working M-F with some on-call, but no where near the amount that he was having at his previous position. We are not sure what hours he will be working, there are three different schedules. 8:30-5,10-6, or 11-7 and it may change from week to week. He is doing the same thing he was doing before, which is oxygen and dme delivery. He is also making about $0.50 more than he was making before which is awesome!!! I am going to keep working some evenings and probably the weekends so that we will be able to get caught up on everything and the I think I am going to try and do some daycare. So that we will have a bit of extra income. It has been a good couple of weeks. Todd finished up with the ticket and accident and found out that since he went to court and traffic school, he wasn't going to have any points put on his record, so he still has a clean record!! We also took the boys into the doctor for their check-ups. Avery is now 28lbs 8 oz, 34.5 in tall and his head is 51.5 cm around. He is in the 75%-95% for his age. Kaeden is 18lbs, 27 in tall, and his head is 45 cm around. He is in the 25%-50% for his age. So basically, we have our big boy and our normal size boy. lol. We have been so blessed with our wonderful boys. Life is wonderful!!!

Avery's toy car was in the living room so we decided to see how Kaeden would do sitting in it and he absolutely loved it!! I love the look like, why haven't let me play in this before???

Here he is just grinning for Daddy. He is such a happy little guy!
Now, I know you can't tell, but this is about 30 sec before he moved his feet and slipped of the car and right out from underneath it. He wasn't sure what to think after that. Lol

Total cuteness!

So, I thought that Kaeden looked so cute in his church outfit Sunday. I just love him!!

RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love my boys. I do, but seriously, there are some times that I just really have a hard time. lol. Tonight we were giving the boys a bath, when Avery once again decided that he was going to poop in the bathtub!! So gross!!! UGH!!!! We had not even had a chance to wash them yet. So, we grabbed them out of the bathtub and decided to finish the bath in the kitchen sink. Here are a couple pictures of my handsome boys. They are just too cute to stay mad at. hee hee.

Starting Early....

So I came home the other day and this is what I found. Daddy had set Kaeden on his lap and was having him play right along with him. Too cute!!

7mths old!

Hi! My name is Kaeden Joe. This is my first time putting a post here on our family blog. I am now 7 months old and quite the happy camper. I have learned quite a bit in the few months that I have been around. I am now sitting up on my own and reaching for anything that I can see. I roll over like a champ, but I get kind of frustrated when I get onto my stomach. I love the jumper that Mommy and Daddy put me in!! It is so much fun to play in and it gives me a great view of what is going on around me. I have the best older brother named Avery. I think he has put a post up here too. He is so great to me, he loves to make me laugh and he also gives me tons of hugs and kisses. Sometimes, he tries to share his toys with me which is great! I have also started to eat solid foods. I LOVE applesauce and sweet potatoes. I am not to sure about peas and greenbeans though. There is also a really cool guy that comes around the house sometimes, he is only around when I am in the bathroom or right in front of Mommy's closet door. He grins when I grin and he laughs when I laugh. The weird thing is when Mommy is holding me, she is also holding him. I haven't quite figured out how she has mastered that, but hopefully one day she will teach me. Okay well, that is what I have been up to I better go now, cause I am getting cranky because it is time for my nap. Hope I can see you all soon. Love you!!

Love!

Mommy and I went to the park today. We left Daddy at home with Kaeden who was sleeping. We had soo much fun! I got to climb up on the equipment and I went do the slide all by myself!! It was great! I also had Mommy push me in the swing. It was lots of fun too! I had a hard time walking in the sand though, it is so hard to keep my balance! I love to feel the sand between my fingers - it is really interesting. I also discovered that you can through it in the air and if you throw it at the slide it makes a funny noise when it hits it. Once I was done playing in the sand, I decided that it was time to run around in the grass.

I saw this flock of birds hanging out in the grass and decided that I wanted to give them some love.

But when I tried to get closer and give them some love, they all flew away at once! It was amazing to see.
Me and Mommy had a great day at the park and I can't wait till we get to go back again!!

Halloween Hoedown

Today was our stake's Halloween Hoedown. We dressed up the boys and took them over there. We probably should have taken more photos, but didn't think to pull the camera out until the end of the night. It was a lot of fun. They had two bounce houses, a cake walk, face painting, a talent show and lots of good food to eat. Here are a couple pictures.
The monkey and the frog
Kaeden was having nothing to do with looking at the camera. lol

Silly Avery

Lately Avery has been saying everything is a hat. We sat him down to feed him lunch and he insisted on wearing the collander on his head while he ate.

Job.....

So, I finally was able to find employment. I am working for an answering service in the afternoon/evening. I am not sure how well it will work out. I know it will not be a long term job, but at least it gives us some sort of income until Todd can find employment. Hopefully that will be soon or we will be headed out to make my parent's house a little more crowded. Love you all.

Nursery!!

Avery is now officially 18 months old an into nursery!!! YAY!!! Don't get me wrong, I love my son, but it was hard work containing him during sunday school and nursery!! I am so grateful for the wonderful nursery leaders!!! Avery loves it!

6 months old!!

So, as of yesterday Kaeden is 6 months old!! I cannot believe how the time has flown! It is just crazyness! It feels like just yesterday Kaeden was a little tiny 6lb baby! He is know sitting up on his own and reaching for all kinds of things. He is almost always giggling and laughing at Avery. They get along so well! When Kaeden laughs at Avery it just eggs Avery on even more.
